Advanced Spinal Surgery

We offer treatment for this condition depending on the type of surgery needed. Some of the conditions and treatment we offer for this condition include:

Cervical and Lumbar Disc replacement Surgery

This is a relatively new treatment for people with a debilitating condition caused by chronic degeneration of the discs putting pressure on the spine. For this procedure, the surgeon slips in an artificial disc to replace the old one.

The new disc is made up of reinforced plastic which helps straighten the spine and allows the patient get back normal locomotive and mobility function. The grooved edges of the metal plate keeps the new disc in its proper order and it is buttressed by the natural pressure and alignment of the spinal cord.

The artificial disc helps alleviate pressure and cushions the vertebrae, as a shock absorber. Once this procedure is carried out and recovery process is allowed patients can expect full recovery. Hospital containment for this procedure is 72 - 96 hours. Once patient is rested for after the surgery, rehabilitation can begin within a week.

Keyhole Surgery

Also known as MASS which stands for Minimal Access Spinal Surgery, this method was developed to reduce incidental damage to muscles and ligaments which is common with the traditional surgery for this procedure but which also provides the same clinical results for surgeries of this nature.

This technique was created to work hand in glove with Minimal Invasive Spinal Surgery (MISS) which prohibits direct visibility of the spine. Following from that premise, both techniques do not change the prognosis of the surgery. MISS and MASS have been utilized to treat conditions such as:

  • Sciatica

  • Scoliosis

  • Anterior Spinal Fusion

  • Herniated discs

  • Kyphosis

The critical advantage of MISS and MASS include:

  • Decreased post-op time for incision pain

  • Improved mobility

  • Decrease in loss of blood

  • Reduced respiratory problems

  • Early release from hospital

  • Improved rehabilitation and quicker recovery time for resumption of normal activities.

We stand out from the crowd for our gluttonous knack for invention.
